Pyongyang Film Festival of the Non-Aligned and other Developing Countries which firstly took place under the ideal of Independence, Peace and Friendship makes 7th honorable annual ring.
The 7th Pyongyang Film Festival of the Non-Aligned and other Developing Countries took place in Pyongyang, the capital of DPRK from September 13th to 21st in 2000.
It attracted a big concern at home and abroad because it opened in the times when the century changes.
Festival participants summed up the end of 20th century throughout their excellent films and exchanged their valuable success and experiences of film makers from different countries to their satisfaction, who seeks for the development of national films in hopeful 21st century.
61 delegations from 33 countries and 3 international missions attended in the festival and 81 films were submitted.
The committee of the international jury, consisting of famous film makers from Cuba, Egypt, DPRK, Iran and Malaysia made a fair judgment on 16 feature films and 13 short films.
As a result of judgment, Iranian Feature Film "The Lost Love" was awarded Gold Torch Prize, the best prize of the festival.
