Description

The 2nd Pyongyang Film Festival for Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries were successfully held in Pyongyang, the capital city of DPR Korea from September 1st to 13th in 1990 reflecting the ideal of Independence, Peace and Friendship and common desire of world film makers. Delegations from Iran, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and different countries of the world and international missions and compatriots abroad who makes films participated in it. 45 feature films, 33 documentaries, 78 films in total were submitted to the festival and they created sensations and there was an international forum titled “Building a new society and film art”during the festival. The film festival played to the gallery every day amid the atmosphere of friendship and was decorated with beautiful scenes of different national films by talents of film makers and artists from different countries and it became the process of exchanging the valuable success and experience and deepening the friendship. Iranian Feature Film “Little Bird of Happiness”was awarded the Gold Torch Prize in the festival. Film makers of different countries were greatly impressed with the greatness of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, visiting many scenic spots and places such as the International Friendship Exhibition and gave their presents and a letter of thanks to the great leaders. The 2nd Pyongyang Film Festival which was successfully held under the lofty ideal of Independence, Peace and Friendship demonstrated the unanimous desire and will of the world progressive film makers who want to achieve the development of film art of humanity. And it also encourages the struggle of people for justice, peace and social progress.
